Karaoke with Marj

We went on a last-minute double date with Drew and Megan after finding a babysitter from the Hills Resort front desk. Took the boat up the lake to Elkins, which was hosting Karaoke with Marj. My confidence was up after some pretty horrible performances from the vacationing teens. That is it was up until Jesse, a 10-year-old in basketball shorts and pigtails put everybody to shame with a few country classics. Followed by a local octogenarian, who brought his own karaoke CD! Nothing a few Kokanee Golds couldn’t solve. The baby boomers in the audience appreciated my rendition of Ricky Nelson’s “Garden Party.”  And I never knew Megan was such a big Meatloaf fan. But the real star of the show was Kristine, who flawlessly got through “These Eyes” by the Guess Who.  Theseeyeshaveseenalotoflovebutthey’renevergonnaseeanotheronelikeIhadwithyou.
