Three full days of great music, tasty food, lovely weather and beautiful friends, coming to a close. Kristine and I had an amazing time at Jazz Fest. Thanks to our friends Andy, Katie and Molly for being great hosts and fest companions. We’ll be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed day 1 of the fest. Kicked it off with some Geno Delafose, followed by an awesome peformance by Lela McCalla. The weather was perfect, which made it so easy to take a short nap while we closed the day out with Bon Ivar at the Gentilly stage. Can’t wait for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers today.
Day 1 of our Jazz Fest vacation. Here’s the view from our room this morning. Got in last night and headed straight to Sylvain in the French Quarter for dinner, which was excellent. Highly recommend it. Headed to the fairgrounds shortly. Listening to some Geno Delafose to get psyched for first day of the Fest.
At the end of every bath, we determine first out of the tub by doing Eeny Meeny Miny Moe. Despite getting total consensus from Henry and Ruby about the method by which we choose who gets out first, there is always a major outcry once we’ve landed on Moe. Tonight it was Ruby. You’d think it was the reaping or something.
… makes Mom laugh.
There’s something about being a kid that gives you permission to do so many things. To stick your nose into a sidewalk grate, for instance. I had the pleasure of spending some daddy time with Henry and Ruby today. We had scooter races in the tennis courts, watched the boats go by in The Cut, and picked daisies for mom.
