How to Win Friends and Influence People on Lopez Island

Simple: wait for things to go wrong with your house so you can, one by one, meet the residents of the island. Call Andy for electrical, Ken K for septic tank, Ken B for excavation, and Roger for the phone line. Pictured below is Ken B digging a trench in the Fry Lodge front yard, so that Andy can bury a new electrical cable to the septic tank, which Ken K can then inspect so that our toilets will keep flushing. Otherwise, I’ll have to call all these guys again. Using the phone line that Roger fixed today.
